Mud season is a time of year when business slows down; the summer activities are no longer, yet there is not enough snow to go full force with winter activities. Business owners take advantage of this time to entice locals by cutting them a break. That way, word of mouth referrals increase once the town is flooded with tourists who would like to visit a local hot spot.
